I recently completed illustrating and designing the graphics for a giant, traveling art studio via the lovely ladies over at ArtFeeds, a not-for-profit organization that exists to mobilize creative healing and encourage creative development. They are a Mobile Arts Center and community of individuals dedicated to the growth and healing of children through art. Dior has engaged with San Francisco based illustrator Hannah Stouffer, an artist best known for her intricately executed imagery and shadowy and ethereal themes. In her work, decorative embellishments are counterbalanced by macabre motifs, the animal kingdom, and the never-ending pursuit of illustrating explosive emotional transcendence. Stouffer's installation in the new Dior Homme of San Francisco is a delicate portrayal of both the cycle in our natural environment and the fragility of being. Illustrated as an elegant site-specific floor to ceiling installation, Stouffer will add her touch to Dior's new interior.

Its been so long. Too long. I don't even know where I've been, where to begin. The same old fate, the lust we make. I guess I've been busy. Everything has changed. I've picked up everything I've owned and moved it. I'm working on your list of suggested readings, working hard to make sense of it all. I'm writing a self-induced thesis (still)- March is approaching. I'll be showing a lot in the upcoming months, years, lifetimes- and its beginning to come together. I'm delving deeper, trying to remember where we left off.... and that one time in the woods, when I was young and alone I built a shelter and rationed my water- that sobering feeling you get when you see the sun rise and reality sets back in- darkness lifts and you remember... what it is you've never wanted to stop doing.

"I guess you could just find the same picture online and rip it up yourself."

Starting with an attempt to steal the scraps of Sinead O'Connor's ripped up picture of Pope John Paul II on national television in 1992 to end loneliness, and ending in a Hollywood drugstore aisle considering intimacy with curling iron boxes in an attempt to feel love through memory, the misplaced intention of intimacy is constructed by a long route of objects, devices, and activity building up to nothing while exposing the mostly base nature of unfulfillment. Broken personal connections are translated through the federal code for the Oklahoma City Bombing (OKBOMB), a Bakersfield band's Myspace page left absent since 2007 (As Palaces Burn), and through a love letter to a painter written as a critique to a stranger, (Spencer Sweeney, These Are Things You Must Hear). 'Ecstacy Motherfucker From Us To You' is a loose selection of very short stories on the process of intimacy and nothingness after it becomes considered unimportant.

Petra Royale Bibeau is the director of MANIAC, an alternative space in Oakland, California working with emerging artists. Ecstacy Motherfucker From Us To You, is Bibeau's first collection of short stories after concurrently releasing 'Notes For Sensation' a collection of essays pertaining to curating.

Just got back from a trip to Houston, where I was asked to be a judge for the Art Directors Club of Houston's annual show. Met a ton of amazing creatives and got the opportunity to review some of the best design woork that Houston has going... thank you everyone for the great time, the excess of whiskey and the warm chocolate chip cookies.
